No Respect

No Respect
All we’re asked to do is to give our best
And we get no respect
All I asked from you was to give a chance
And you gave no respect
All we’re meant to do is to bury our heads
And I’ll give no respect
All that you’ve been through and what you’ve done
And you feel no respect
Expect no respect
No respect

Monkey Bite

Monkey Bite
i can see it in your eyes
i can smell your fear
in your every word and action
your time is near
you’ve hit my last nerve
the reaction has been set
you’ve stroked me the wrong way
and now you’ve lost the bet
don’t get too close
don’t show your fright
you’d better watch your step
or the monkey will bite
c’mon just try me
my fuse has been lit
i’m sick of your attitude
and all the bullshit
you’re putting me through
i’ve hated it all along
but now the urge has grown
and it’s become too strong
i can’t control it anymore
i don’t sympathize with your plight
if you piss me off again
the monkey’s gonna bite

Fuck I'm Happy!

fuck i’m happy
i just quit the job that i hate
my girlfriend’s period was only late
that itch i had was just a rash
just found a wallet full of cash
bank made a mistake in my favour
just bought a pack of my favourite “life savers”
medical results came back clean
and i’m on the cover of a magazine
got that doll in the mail
passed a test i thought i failed
no more cold sores on my lip
and i feel so much better since i let one rip
i just found my first chest hair
just found a pair of clean underwear
my band just got a gig
i’m so happy i could dance a jig
i just got a brand new job
managed to escape that angry mob
my flight took off on time
tickets went on sale, and i’m first in line
everything’s just going my way
i wish everyday was like today
but the good luck’s gotta stop
so i’ll just be happy with what i’ve got

What Year Is This?

What Year Is This?
It’s the type of music that we play
It’s like the people I see each day
Can you tell me?
What year is this?
See the mom in her acid-washed jeans
Wait a minute, she’s only sixteen
Can you tell me?
Is it 1986?
See the young girl with the crimped hair
And the leg warmers that she wears
Can you tell me?
What year is this?
And to make her outfit even worse
A tasseled leather jacket and matching purse
Can you tell me?
What fad is this?
He’s got some giant writing on an oversized t-shirt
Frankie says… You’ve got to learn to relax
I better dig out my fluorescent sweat bands
And print up some brand new parachute pants
A kid with Doc Martens and a Rubik’s cube
Reliving your parents’ childhood, you’re not a trendsetter
I pity the fool who wants my MTV
It sucked back then, and today it’s no better

Anthem
We’ve decided we’re going to make an olive the size of an apple
Then we’re going to grind it up and make big muffaletta sandwiches
Which defeats the purpose of growing it so big in the first place
But we don’t care
Help us come up with a name for this project
A.S.O.P. (x4)
The scene has changed
Salad Days are gone
But our heart remains
So our beat stays strong
We’ve still decided we’re going to make an olive the size of an apple
Then we’re going to grind it up and spread it on Premium Plus crackers
Which defeats the purpose of growing it so big in the first place
And we still don’t care
A.S.O.P. (x4)
Suburban made
Maybe that will explain
After all these years
Why I still feel the rage

A.S.O.P. Toronto, Ontario
A bunch of old punks sharing our modern take on hardcore punk with anyone brave enough to listen. Middle-aged anger,
frustration and disappointment with the state of the world, put to music.
The meaning of A.S.O.P. changes with our mood and/or the current state of affairs. Examples include Arguments Started Over Politics, Apathy Stifles Our Progress, and Accidentally Sarcastic On Purpose.
